Only through collaboration will the mining industry be able to sustainably mine the resources needed to enable the energy transition. With our partners, we are taking the lead to de-risk the transition from diesel-fueled mines.
Leading the way in mining technical performance
Perenti is collaborating with ABB to explore approaches that support meeting net zero emissions targets for underground and open-pit mines. Together, the teams are developing solutions that underpin the electrification of mining operations in pilot, greenfield and brownfield customer projects.

Leading the way in mine electrification
Perenti and ABB are working side by side with IGO to study all aspects of mine electrification.
The study showed that transitioning to an all-electric fleet at Cosmos is technically feasible and not cost prohibitive, and while all mines are different, the findings have substantial value for IGO and the industry more broadly.

Since 2019 we have been partnering with major equipment suppliers to trial and commission a full range of electric mining equipment. Most recently, joining forces with Sandvik by signing a MOU that is centered on developing cutting-edge diesel-electric equipment for underground mines.
