Expanding our North American footprint

In 2025, Barminco was awarded a contract by Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) for the Goldrush project in Nevada. The scope includes high-speed development, load and haul and ground support services, including shotcrete application. With a projected 24-year mine life, Goldrush is one of the most exciting new underground developments in North America and potential for further expansion. The award strengthens our regional presence, following Barminco’s entry into Canada in 2019 and subsequent expansion to Newmont’s Red Chris copper/gold mine in British Columbia in 2021.

Delivering technical excellence in Africa

Perenti also continues to demonstrate leadership in Africa, where our underground businesses have supported large-scale developments for decades. In 2025, we were engaged by AngloGold Ashanti to deliver a planning optimisation project at the Obuasi underground gold mine in Ghana. The project focused on optimising the life-of-mine design and schedule, redesigning management operating system and updating execution plans to ensure they remain fit for purpose.

Orelogy adds another dimension to our underground strength, offering technical consulting, mine design and scheduling expertise that ensures operations are optimised for maximum efficiency.

In Australia’s first, Orelogy helped make fully electrified underground mine a reality. The technical process of completing an electrification study is different to undertaking a pre-feasibility study for a mine with a standard diesel fleet and requires new thinking and re-evaluation of long-accepted mining practices for diesel equipment. The team provided their technical expertise to support the transition of an operating underground mine from a fully diesel fleet to a fully electric one.
